Is Yahshua the Son of God or Is He Not?–
Part I
–
Many people believe Yahshua is the Son of God. Is Yahshua the Son of God or is he not?
Mt 17:5 (His transfiguration) A voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.
Lu 3:22 (His baptism) – A voice came from heaven, which said, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased.
Jn 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son.
Ro 8:32 He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all.
2Co. 1:3 Blessed be God, even the Father of our Master Yahshua Messiah.
Col. 1:3 We give thanks to God and the Father of our Master Yahshua Messiah, praying always for you.
Heb 1:5 For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son? [This is also in Ps. 2:7, Acts 23:13 & He. 5:5.]
1Jn 4:9 God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.
2Jn 1:3 Grace be with you, mercy, and peace, from Yahweh the Father, and from the Master Yahshua Messiah, the Son of the Father.
Above are several quotes from two of the most trustworthy and honorable witnesses that have ever existed. The question we look into with this study is, can we believe them? Did Yahweh father Yahshua? Was Yahshua truly indeed Yahweh’s son or is this just “a play on words” or a “figure of speech”? Did Yahweh send His only begotten Son to save us or did He send someone (or something) else and just called him His son? Was this His way of confusing us or the means of explaining His plan of redemption? If He sent His highest ranking angel or the 2nd Person of the Godhead or His co-creator or His assistant (a.k.a. the Word), or if He Himself took a human form and came as a man, then He truly didn’t send “His only begotten Son.”
This study will look into the doctrine of the “Eternal Son.” We will show how the King James Version (KJV), and subsequently most translations that followed, promoted the theory that “God the Son” pre-existed from the beginning with the Father, Yahweh. Remember that each and every member of the KJV’s translating team believed in the Trinity and that Yahshua Messiah is “God the Son,” not the Son of God, for they had been taught this since birth. We will endeavor to show, with the help of the Greek New Testament, that the difficult passages that tend to mislead, teach Yahshua is Yahweh’s Son and began His existence at Bethlehem.
Who is Yahshua’s God?
Ps 22:10 I was cast upon thee from the womb: thou art my God from my mother’s belly.
Mt 27:46 Yahshua cried, “My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?”
Mr 10:18 Yahshua said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God.
Jn 5:19 Then answered Yahshua and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.
Jn 17:3 Yahshua: “This is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Yahshua Messiah, whom thou hast sent.”
Jn 20:17 I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God.
1Co 8:6 But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one master Yahshua Messiah, by whom are all things, and we by him.
Eph 1:17 That the God of our master Yahshua Messiah, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom.
1Ti 2:5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man (anthropos) Messiah Yahshua; {#444 anthropos human being; KJV – man 552, not tr 4, misc 3; total 559}
Heb 1:9 Concerning the Son, “Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.”
Yahshua claims his God is Yahweh the Father, his Father. If the scriptures are true and there is only one God then Yahshua was not that God but instead worshiped and obeyed that one God.
Is Yahshua God?
Mt 2:11 When they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense, and myrrh.
Mt 8:2 And, behold, there came a leper and worshipped him, saying, Master, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.
Mt 9:18 While he spake these things unto them, behold, there came a certain ruler, and worshipped him, saying, My daughter is even now dead: but come and lay thy hand upon her, and she shall live.
Mt 14:33 Then they that were in the ship came and worshipped him, saying, Of a truth thou art the Son of God.
Mt 28:9 As they went to tell his disciples, behold, Yahshua met them, saying, All hail. And they came and held him by the feet, and worshipped him.
Mr 5:6 But when he saw Yahshua afar off, he ran and worshipped him.
Lu 24:52 And they worshipped him, and returned to Jerusalem with great joy.
Heb 1:6 When he bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him.
If Yahshua is God, is he the one true God, the Almighty, or is he God in the same since as Herod is god or Satan is god? For an answer to this question go to the section titled “Yahshua is called ‘God.’”
Or God’s Only Begotten Son?
Ps 89:27 Also I will make him my firstborn, higher than the kings of the earth.
Lu 2:49 He said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that I must be about my Father’s business?
Jn 1:18 No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.
Jn 5:43 I am come in my Father’s name, and ye receive me not.
Ro 8:3 God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh.
Ps 2:7 I will declare the decree: Yahweh hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee.
Ac 13:33 He hath raised up Yahshua again; as it is also written in the second psalm, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee.
Heb 5:5 Thou art my Son, to day have I begotten thee.
Heb 1:5 For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten (gennao) thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son?
Mt 1:20 Angel to Joseph: That which is conceived (gennao) in her is of the Holy Spirit.
#1080 gennao; KJV – begat 49, be born 39, bear 2, gender 2, bring forth 1,be delivered 1, misc 3; total 97; Definition: of men who fathered children, to be begotten.
From Mt. 1:2-16 in Yahshua’s genealogy, gennao is used 39 times to convey that Abraham fathered Isaac who fathered Jacob etc., on down to Joseph the husband of Mary.
Let’s deal with the critical question that is central to this study: Did Yahweh beget (propagate, reproduce, breed, spawn, father, sire) Yahshua or not? Let everyone answer this question. If you answer yes, you have the scriptures to support you. If your answer is no, you will then have to rationalize numerous scriptures that clearly tell us He did. Gabriel told Mary she was going to have a son but Mary said, “How shall this be, seeing I know not a man?” What are you talking about Gabriel, I can’t produce a child by myself? Then Gabriel describes how it would work and his explanation confirms other scriptures. He said, “The Holy Spirit shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God” (Lu 1:34-35). So face it, the Son has a real Father, Yahshua is the legitimate Son of Yahweh. The Messiah stated, “I CAME OUT from Yahweh. I CAME FORTH from the Father” (Jn 16:27-28).
Yahshua never ever, even once said he was God, but only ever claimed to be the Son of God. He died because of these words, “I said, I am the Son of God” (Jn 10:36).
Therefore is He God?
Ro 1:4 Declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead.
Jn 5:26 For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself.
Jn 20:28 Thomas answered and said unto him, My Master and my God.
Heb 7:16 Who is made, not after the law of a carnal commandment, but after the power of an endless life.
Just because he is the direct and only descendent of Almighty Yahweh does not make him Almighty, or Yahweh. However, the Almighty has turned over all power to His Son (Mt 28:18, 1Pe 3:22), with the exception of the Almighty Himself (1Co 15:27-28). There can only be one ALL-mighty and that is Yahweh because Yahshua is subordinate to Him, “When all things shall be subdued unto him (Messiah vs. 23), then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him” (God the Father vs. 24).
Having said that let’s look at Col 2:9, “For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.” In the past Yahweh dwelt in the temple but now is very pleased to dwell in His Son. Not figuratively or partially, but fully, totally and completely. “Godhead” is only used three times in the NT and each time it is translated from a different Greek word. Here it is translated from #2320 theotes, the KJV translators coined the word “Godhead,” no doubt thinking in terms of the Trinity, rather than using divine or divinity as they did in other places. Theotes is from #2316 theos – God, its meaning pertains to Yahweh’s quintessence, which is the heart or core of Yahweh’s complete essence or being that dwells bodily in Yahshua, “For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell” (Col 1:19).
However, despite what others might force this to say we must admit it says the Father DWELLETH in the Son. He didn’t become the Son or the Son didn’t become Yahweh. “Dwelleth” is a translation of #2730 katoikeo from #3611 oikeo-dwell. Yahweh dwelt in the temple (1Ki 8:27, Mt 23:21), although that was much different and so we can easily accept and understand the meaning of “dwelleth” when it relates to the temple or other believers, but seem to lose the meaning of the word when it is used in Col 2:9. This verse carries much the same meaning as Mt 1:23 and 2Co 5:19, Yahweh, being spirit, was and is dwelling without measure in His Son. In Lu 11:26 eight unclean spirits dwelleth (katoikeo) in a man and Ro 8:11 and 1Co 3:16 says God dwells in us. Now we know that doesn’t make any of us Yahweh any more than the temple was Yahweh, so why do people use Col 2:9 to tell us the Messiah is the Father?
The Son epitomizes the purest and most concentrated form of Yahweh because he is the most typical example or representation of God. In the Son lodges Yahweh’s pure character, His divine nature, His honourable presence, His glorious power, His executive authority and much more. But wait, you and I can also be honoured in the same way. Yahshua is not the only one having the fullness of God but Paul says, “Ye might be filled with all the fulness of God” (Ep 3:19). Adam Clarke is overwhelmed, “Among all the great sayings in this prayer, this is the greatest. To be FILLED with God is a great thing; to be filled with the FULNESS of God is still greater; but to be filled with ALL the fulness of God, utterly bewilders the sense and confounds the understanding.” It sure does and Peter also tells us Yahweh’s promise is that “Ye might be partakers of the divine nature” (2Pe 1:4). So concerning Yahshua this is what Yahweh intended, He highly exalted His Son (Ps 8:5-6, Dan 7:14, Mt 28:18, Jn 5:26, Ac 2:36 & 5:31, Ro 8:11, 1Co 3:16, Ep 1:20-22, Php 2:9, 1Pe 3:22, 2Pe 1:17, Rev 5:12), but He did not turn Himself into His Son.
Was Not Adam Also His Begotten Son?
Ge 2:7 Yahweh God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life.
Ge 3:19 To Adam and Eve after their fall, “For dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.”
1Co 15:45 It is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam (Yahshua) was made a quickening spirit. 46 Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual. 47 The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Sovereign from *(ek) heaven.
Our origin is the earth, whereas Yahshua’s is directly from Yahweh, who of course is in heaven.
*#1537 ek; a primary preposition denoting origin (the point whence action or motion proceeds). KJV – of 366, from 181, out of 162, by 55, on 34, with 25, misc 98; total 921; Definition: from, out (of place, time, or cause); literal or figurative.
Adam was taken from the earth whereas Yahshua was descended directly from Yahweh.
Are Humans and Angels Yahweh’s Children?

Job 1:6 Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before Yahweh, and Satan came also among them.
Isa 63:16 Thou, O Yahweh, art our father, our redeemer; thy name is from everlasting.
Isa 64:8 O Yahweh, thou art our father; we are the clay, and thou our potter; and we all are the work of thy hand.

We are His children even though we are not “begotten” by Him but descended from Adam.
